No. RustBoom uses the official Rust+ companion API that Facepunch built and published for exactly this kind of integration. We make the same read-only calls the Rust+ mobile app does — no mods, no exploits, no third-party tools running on the server.

Does pairing affect my in-game performance or other players?

Accepted Answer

Not at all. The Rust+ API is read-only and runs completely outside the game server. Pairing simply lets us poll vending machine data on your behalf. Other players on the server don't need to do anything and won't notice a difference.

How fresh is the data? What if a shop restocks mid-wipe?

Each paired server is polled every 30 seconds. If a shop restocks or a new vending machine is placed, you'll see it on the map within half a minute. Price history sparklines track changes over the last 24 hours so you can spot restock patterns.

What happens when I unpair my server?

Accepted Answer

Unpairing immediately stops all polling for that server and schedules your encrypted player token for deletion. The token is AES-256-GCM encrypted at rest and is never returned to your browser — unpairing is the only way it's ever accessed, and only to wipe it.

What are the best items to sell in a Rust vending machine?

High-demand items like AKs, bolt action rifles, Thompson SMGs, and scrap tend to sell fastest. Consumables (med kits, bandages, food) move quickly on low-pop servers. Component-heavy items such as gears, propane tanks, and semi-automatic bodies are reliable sellers mid-wipe.
